How do we educate in a changing world? Our education prepares students for the future. The social challenges we face mean that sustainable development is becoming even more important in education. This does not mean another subject or separate project, but anchoring sustainability in the DNA of the school. Integral sustainable thinking and acting in education, in practice and in operations.
Together with Teachers for Climate, Learning for Tomorrow is organizing this festive networking event. On October 10, Sustainability Day, we will gather everyone interested in sustainable development in secondary education at the Network Event VO with the presentation of the SustainaBul. Teachers and administrators learn from each other, sustainable examples will be given in a cool program, and of course we will announce the winner of the SustainaBul VO! The day is all about sharing good examples, inspiring ideas and starting points, so you can easily get started at your school afterwards.

A SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL BUILDING, PLEASE! BUT...
Schools face a major task: making buildings more sustainable. This may not be paid for out of lump-sum funds and municipalities often do not have the resources either. What is the playing field? What do you do in the short term and what in the long term? What else is sustainability besides reducing your footprint? How do you involve students and teachers in the plans? And how can a sustainable school building contribute to the content of the lessons? A conversation with...Marco van Zandwijk (Ruimte OK), Maarten Boelsma (head of real estate Esprit), Wieneke Maris (geography teacher and NADO board member). The panel discussion is moderated by Giuseppe van der Helm (director Learning for Tomorrow) and Mark Boode (co-founder TfC and author Young Adult Books, rvt Youth for Climate).

Congress 'Updating Key Objectives'
On the same day, the Day of Sustainability, the SLO congress 'Actualization Core Objectives' will also take place. After more than 20 years there will be new core objectives for Dutch and mathematics. In the past year a team of teachers, subject experts and curriculum developers have worked hard on updating these core objectives. Are you interested in the new core objectives and do you want to know how your school can work with them? Visit the National Congress 'Actualization Key Objectives' in Nieuwegein.
