On October 10, we will organize the sustainability festival for schools that are taking or want to take steps in the field of sustainability. Students, teachers, principals and school boards can find inspiration and exchange knowledge together.
The theme is Learning Inside Out: Learning from the Environment. From the classroom to the green grass, from traditional teaching methods to hands-on, together we will discover how your environment can be an inexhaustible source for sustainable development! Get inspired through workshops and activities and learn who may receive the SustainaBul VO 2024. Registration is now open.
Program
The Sustainability Festival will take place on October 10 on the Day of Sustainability in Education. Since 2008, this day has been dedicated to inspiring good examples, exchanging experiences and networking between beginners and leaders.
Therefore, at the Sustainability Festival you will find rich programming where there is something to learn and experience for everyone's role. Whether you have been participating in the SustainaBul VO and/or Eco-Schools for years, are working on a specific sustainability theme or are still in the exploratory phase. In addition, the program has a special focus on the theme "learning inside out: learning from the environment.
A tip of the hat to the program:
- How do you make your sustainable activities visible in an enthusiastic way? And how do you bring out what you are doing within your school? Learn how to make a beautiful photo or video report about your sustainable activity in a workshop for students of Eco-teams.
- There is an increasing focus on taking an integrated approach to sustainability: from curriculum to vision, including through the Whole School Approach model. Be inspired by Teachers for Climate's transformative sustainability model, developed to help teachers integrate sustainability into their teaching.
- To work effectively on sustainability, sustainable leadership is important. Find out what the job of sustainability coordinator entails and exchange experiences on how to take on the role of a catalyst!
- We often learn the most from each other's experiences. What do others encounter and how can you deal with this from your role? What good examples are there and with whom can you perhaps collaborate in the future? Go on speed dates with each other: talking cards will help you get to know new people and talk to each other about inside-out learning.
- Check how your school is doing in terms of sustainable education and fill out a Quick Scan of the SustainaBul VO - who knows, maybe next year you will be on stage to receive the SustainaBul VO!
- Of course, we will also go outside to explore the environment - which environment that is, remains a secret for now....
Practical information and registration
The sustainability festival will take place on Oct. 10 from 11:00-16:00. A vegetarian lunch will be facilitated.
We will announce the location of the sustainability festival as soon as possible. You may assume that the location is easily accessible, centrally located in the Netherlands and that it offers inspiration for the theme of the day: learning inside out.
