Teaching material Land over Water

Land above water is cross-curricular educational material for primary, secondary and vocational schools. With land above
water, children and young people learn what hydraulic engineering is and what job prospects this sector has.

In the module for elementary school, students discover what it takes to live with water. Pupils in secondary schools 'build' their own Afsluitdijk through a simulation or learn about the work of dredgers. In the junior high school/vwo they build their own Marker Wadden or discover how hydraulic engineers build with nature, thus contributing to the preservation of biodiversity. In upper secondary school havo/vwo, students get to work building Schiphol Airport in the sea. In mbo, students create a technical design for the New Afsluitdijk or learn about the work of dredgers.
