The annual IVN conference Child & Nature will take place this year on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Kontakt der Kontinenten in Soesterberg and will have as its theme "Learning and Development Rich in Nature." The day will focus on the positive effect of greenery on learning, well-being and health of children in education and child care.
Nature has a positive effect on children's learning, well-being and health. This makes nature a healthy medicine for current issues in education and care around poor ventilation, obesity and exercise poverty. But what does it mean when you put nature at the center of learning and development? If you take nature as a starting point for the organization and design of education and child care? If we want nature-rich learning and development?
A nature-rich, green environment is a prerequisite for nature-rich learning and development. Fortunately, throughout the country we see numerous examples of greening the physical environment. But nature-rich learning and development requires more from teachers and educational staff. Not just going outside during playtime and/or nature lessons. But taking steps to harness the potential of nature for all that other school and daycare time as well? This is quite a challenge, which we are going to give more hands and feet to during this conference.
