On Oct. 10, during Sustainability Day, education professionals gathered at the Sustainability Festival. This event was organized by Leren voor Morgen and Eco-Schools Nederland, in collaboration with the Groene Ruijter in Bussum. After a day of inspiring workshops on topics such as ownership and the role of a sustainability coordinator, the presentation of the SustainaBul VO 2024 followed.
The SustainaBul is a benchmarking tool that helps schools understand their progress on sustainability. It provides not only a yardstick, but also a platform for knowledge sharing and inspiration. This year, Yuverta and SVOK (Stichting Voortgezet Onderwijs Kennemerland) were allowed on stage to share their experiences. Both schools stood out for their dedication to sustainable development.
Yuverta, this year's winner of the SustainaBul VO 2024, impressed with their integrated approach to both education, practice and operations. "We are extremely pleased with this recognition of our work," said Joost Brouwer, member of Yuverta's Executive Board. SVOK was named greatest accelerator, thanks to their notable progress on sustainability within the organization. "This recognition encourages us to make even more of an impact," Anja Teeuwen, Director Service & Expertise Center at SVOK told us.
The sustainability festival made one thing clear: by working together and sharing knowledge, schools can inspire each other to further embed sustainable development in their education. Thanks to the SustainaBul VO, best practices become visible, and schools throughout the Netherlands can get to work on sustainability today.
The SustainaBul VO is organized by Cooperative Learning for Tomorrow (place 1 in the Trouw Sustainable Top 100 category Education and Science) and was made possible in part by Sustainable By. More information about the SustainaBul VO can be found at www.vo.sustainabul.com
