Good Practice
Nawfal Al Jeburi, teacher of sustainable business, has been working at Stanislas Pro since January 2022. He was tasked with reviving the school's thrift store. It wasn't running at all. He asked what his students would like to do, where their interests lie. Together with students and colleagues, he has now turned it into a successful fashion outlet store.

When buying clothes, students learn about the impact of transportation, packaging materials, production, different fabrics and coloring. Together they look at how they can work sustainably as well as attractively. For example, they are now setting up a design lab with a printer that can print clothes. For this they buy recycled clothing and work with an artist to provide the clothing with attractive prints. The students make the business plan themselves and in the process learn how to make money in a sustainable, responsible way.

Currently, about 10 students from Stanislas Pro are involved. The desire is to involve more students from Rijswijk and surrounding areas and to develop a new learning line and teaching materials for practical, havo and mbo. Read more about this initiative at Circulate.nu. The winter coat giveaway last October generated a lot of publicity.
