From an early age, children are exposed to what is happening in the world - sometimes near and far. Think about poverty, polarization and climate change. Research shows that many teachers and school leaders want to pay more attention to these issues than they do now.
André de Hamer (Sustainable PABO) and Peter Luijten (Learning for Tomorrow) will therefore provide a program component during the POdium meeting on November 5. Together with those present, you will learn how learning for sustainable development can be anchored in course plans and in educational practice. Peter and André will also provide examples of elementary school and pabo's from all over the Netherlands!
Consider issues such as:
- How can we interpret this from a hopeful pedagogy?
- How do we ensure that children, as small as they are, can develop ideas and initiatives that contribute to a more social and sustainable world, starting in their own environment?
- How can we integrate learning for sustainable development into our education (policy) without piling on?
We will exchange about this, led by André and Peter. They will provide examples of elementary school and pabo's from all over the Netherlands.
We'd love to see you there! Will you be there? Go to the POdium page for information and registration.
